Guarantee Investment Value Strategies

Good Returns GIVS are an important innovation enabling capital to create sustainable, scalable social impact while targeting market-level returns with plannable liquidity.

Participants


Guarantors are key to the model, acting as the true facilitators of impact. They invest in a liquid low-volatility fund and pledge their holdings.
Capital partners provide low-cost or no-cost scaling capital to impact organizations.
Guarantors retain their capital plus return. Should a loan default occur, all guarantors share proportionally by making a charitable contribution from the fund.

GIVS offers Impact Investors a way to deploy capital with leverage, targeting a return while sustainably accomplishing philanthropic goals.

For Foundations, GIVS can qualify as a Program Related Investment (PRI), helping you maintain your assets while creating social impact. GIVS investments can count toward your 5% in the year you invest, can earn a return, and can return to you for later granting.

If your community foundation is a GIVS Network member, you can invest Donor Advised Fund capital into GIVS to create impact while targeting growth for your DAF.

Good Returns drives the process

Infrastructure and programming is provided by Good Returns. We build the impact network and perform due diligence on all Impact Organizations prior to executing the lending and guarantee process. Stakeholders receive an annual report complete with impact stories and measurements.
